NRA First Steps is an entry level firearm orientation program providing new gun owners with hands-on introduction to safe handling, fundamental shooting skills, and proper operation for a specific firearm model (pistol only at this time). These model-specific, 3+ hour orientations combine classroom and range time to teach firearm safety rules, parts and operation, ammunition basics, shooting fundamentals, cleaning, and storage.
What you'll learn
Class price does not include range fee, gun rental, or ammo costs, this will be discussed in your confirmation email.
This class does NOT qualify as a CCW requirement for a Colorado CHP.
Develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.
Attendees must be age 21 or above!

Basic Pistol IS a prerequisite for this course!
Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

The NRA CCW course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation, and is designed to provide the core competencies required specifically for Colorado.

Araphoe County Verified and CPW Certified FSS Instructor - This course satisfies the Colorado FSS requirement.
To be eligible for the 4 hour class you MUST have a Hunter Safety card.
