Responsible Gun Ownership Starts With Training !
With the changes SB-003 are bringing to Colorado this is also a good time to revisit training! Owning a rifle is only part of responsible firearm ownership, also knowing how to safely handle it, store it, zero it, maintain it, and operate it are all aspects of firearm ownership!
If you do not currently own a rifle but you're interested in an SSF or potentially purchasing a rifle please contact me to discuss taking an NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting course!
A great number of people take a Concealed Carry course, purchase a firearm, shoot it a few times and then put it in a safe never to be touched again. Training is paramount for personal safety whether it be in the use of a firearm or in the use of pepper spray, if you don't practice than you won't feel comfortable in a situation where your skills are needed. This was exactly what I did when I first purchased a firearm, I shot it a few times, and then put it in a safe for 15 years until moving to Colorado and taking a Concealed Carry Class and then what happened? The gun went back into the safe for several more years! I want to make sure this isn't the case with you, I want you to feel confident with yourself, your choices and the options available to you so that you aren't unprepared should the unknown occur and that is my goal!
Simply taking a class isn't what makes someone feel comfortable, especially when carrying a firearm, continued practice and training is required. I am just like you! I do not have a military or law enforcement background, although I do have some law enforcement training, and I spent a great many years as a stay at home mother to my 5 kids but if you own a firearm it is imperative that you continue to train! You need to take classes and to practice whether you're using a firearm, pepper spray, or martial arts and in a lot of cases women just dont feel comfortable carrying their gun so their main self-defense is useless because it won't be used.
From the initial thought of "What can I do to keep myself and my family safe?" to the choice of a firearm or personal safety device to continued education and training it can be daunting to even know where to start. Wicked Wolf Training will help you choose which safety options fit your level of comfort and lifestyle and will support you in every step of your journey. With NRA classes, firearms instruction and training and more.
Women and vulnerable people are encouraged to involve their significant others but not to rely on them when it comes to choosing safety options. When choosing personal safety devices, especially firearms, you need options YOU are comfortable with including the type of device and for firearms the physical size, the caliber, and the options for concealed carry.
